Disneyland shut down because of Protestors

On August 7, 1970, lined the street in front of Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle in Anaheim, California, as the park was forced to close for the day due to protests. Several hundred youths, described as “hippie-types,” refused to stop marching through the park and climbing buildings, leading to 18 arrests.
